Why solar for agriculture

Clean power for production and cold storage.

Agriculture is energy-intensive at exactly the moments solar can help most: cold storage, packhouse operations and refrigeration through the day. Many farms sit far from the grid, so off-grid and weak-grid conditions are the norm, and a single outage can destroy a harvest of perishable produce. We build solar-plus-storage sized to the operation, and we have delivered across Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, including one of East Africa’s first floating PV systems.

Solar research and living-lab installation delivered with Hochschule Karlsruhe in East Africa

We design and build research and demonstration systems that combine solar with farming, from living labs across three countries to floating PV and agrivoltaics guidelines. We are writing national agrivoltaics guidance for Uganda and have delivered research infrastructure with Hochschule Karlsruhe in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
